Il scopo
Un documentarista di Chicago mi ha contattato per progettare un sito web per un nuovo film documentario che si stava preparando a presentare in anteprima sulla PBS. Il mio lavoro gli è piaciuto così tanto che mi ha chiesto di fare il sito web per la sua casa di produzione.

Il scopo
L'idea era semplice.
I contenuti video sono stati forniti in due formati: voice over e template. Le voci fuori campo sono state registrate da parlanti fluenti nei loro dialetti nativi utilizzando risposte sempre più complesse. Questi contenuti video vengono utilizzati sia in aula che in laboratorio linguistico.
Nel laboratorio linguistico, è il turno degli studenti di registrare le proprie voci fuori campo. Guardano un modello video durante la registrazione. Queste registrazioni entrano a far parte del portfolio di lavoro degli studenti per il semestre. Un diario orale/uditivo a cui possono fare riferimento in seguito per ascoltare i propri progressi. Ci sono una miriade di esercizi di lettura e scrittura che possono accompagnare questo lavoro multimediale, come trascrivere la propria registrazione e correggere gli errori.

Prima che iniziasse la produzione, avevo avuto la fortuna di ottenere finanziamenti per assumere studenti laureati e universitari che lavorassero con me in un piccolo studio di produzione che avevo creato in una liberatoria abbandonata. Questo è stato uno dei progetti più interessanti a cui abbia mai partecipato.
Mystery Saucers Press
Il scopo
Lanciare una nuova impresa è impegnativo. Soprattutto quando il tuo prodotto è qualcosa che le persone devono leggere. Creare un sito web pulito, di facile lettura e ad alto contrasto per attirare il target demografico di Mystery Saucers sembrava una scelta solida.

Project Summary
A documentary filmmaker from Chicago approached me to design a website for a new documntary film he was getting ready to premiere on PBS. He liked my work so much, he asked me to do the website for his production company.

Project Summary
The idea was simple.
Video content was delivered in two formats: voice over and template. Voice overs were recorded by fluent speakers in a in their native dialects using increasingly complex responses. This video content is used in both classroom and language lab.
In the language lab, it's the students' turn to record their own voice-overs. They watch a video template while recording. These recordings become a part of the students' portfolio of work for the semester. An oral/aural diary they can reference later to hear their own progress. There are a myriad of reading and writing exercises that can accompany this multimedia work, such as transcribing their own recording, and correcting the mistakes.

Before production started, I had been fortunate enough to secure grant funding to hire graduate and undergraduate students to work with me in a small production studio I created in an abandoned librrary. This was one of the coolest projects I've ever been a part.
40 Hours of Curriculum per Week
Project Summary
An NGO hired me to help them avoid lay-offs of its 4,000+ employees. Their strategy: Engage all agency employees in 40 hours of professional development per week. I joined three other Instructional Designers to create this curriculum until the pandemic ended.
